NAXOS

cycladesNaxos is the biggest island in the Cyclades and has undergone several phases of metamorphism. Early blueschist assemblages are overprinted by Barrovian style metamorphism associated with crustal extension. The north-west of the island is dominated by a metamorphic complex in the form of a dome feature where there are concentric zones of increasing metamorphic grade (garnet > kyanite > sillimanite schist) and a migmatite core.
